Like many of the best British comedies, Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights only produced twelve episodes before leaving on a high. An instant classic based around a working men’s club in Bolton, this Channel 4 sitcom turned Kay into a superstar and also helped raised the profile of a batch of fellow stand-up comedians, including Birmingham’s own Janice Connolly (aka Mrs Barbara Nice).
Janice herself will be on hand for The Mockingbird’s tribute to the never ending joys of Phoenix Nights, quizzing audience members on Phoenix Nights trivia and introducing a screening of the series two episode Family Fun Day.
