Bournbrook DIY is one of the shining lights to emerge in Birmingham during lockdown. Built with love, sweat and donations from the public, a passionate group of local skaters worked with the community to transform an overgrown patch of land behind Selly Oak Aldi into a buzzing skate park and community space. After a brief hiccup when the council threatened to close them down, it has now become the UK's first DIY skate park to be granted official status.
