Au revoir to the Avengers and forget the Fantastic 4: Tobacco Force are the heroes that we need and deserve right now in the latest flick from Quentin Dupieux (Rubber (2010), Mandibles (2020)). Although a dab hand at defeating man-sized kaiju, the supposedly anti-smoking superhero group are sent on a team-building retreat to work on themselves, whilst unknown to them, a malevolent force orbits the Earth.
“Borrowing” lovingly from Power Rangers, Ninja Turtles and classic 70s sci-fi, expect inappropriate workplace banter from the boss (who’s a puppet rat, naturally), an insubordinate droid with an ill-placed hose and some gentle B-movie goo and gore. Fun et fumeur!
